How to Make an Amazon Seller Account

Selling products on Amazon is a great way to make additional income, and with the right products and optimization, it can create considerable amounts of revenue, which leads many potential sellers to research how to make an Amazon seller account. If you have been wondering how to make an Amazon seller account, there’s good news and more good news. Not only is it relatively easy to do, but it only takes a few minutes to get through all the steps. We’re going to take a closer look at how sellers register with Amazon, what the process entails, and what comes next.

How Do I Create A Seller Account On Amazon?

Before you create your seller account, you’ll need to have a general idea of what your Amazon business is going to be selling. If not, make sure you do that first, as well as getting all of your other business administrative tasks out of the way, like getting registered, obtaining an EIN, and so on. Once you know what you’ll be selling, it’s time to create your seller account.

  1. Navigate To https://services.amazon.com

This is the landing page for the Amazon seller interface.

  1. Click “Learn More”

Once you click to learn more, you’ll be taken to another page. Find the “Pricing” drop-down menu, and click “compare” to see a comparison of the pricing plans.

  1. Decide between an individual or professional seller account

You’ll have two options for your seller plan. The professional plan costs $40 per month and comes with greatly expanded functionality and benefits. Individual plans are charged on a per-item basis.

  1. Submit your email

Enter the email address you want to be associated with your seller account, and select “Create a New Account”. You’ll be asked to then create a password, and then you’re on to the next step.

  1. Choose business location and type

You will need to verify the country in which your business is located, which will be verified later. Then, you’ll need to indicate the ownership status of your business, such as state-owned, publicly-owned, privately-owned, non-profit organization, or individual.

  1. Provide personal information

The standard personal information will need to be entered on a form. Name, address, the form of ID to verify, birthday, and more. This will need to be accurate, since it will be verified later, and there will be limited options for correcting it.

  1. Provide billing information

You will need to provide Amazon with a credit card number and your bank account information. You will then be asked to agree to some terms of use.

  1. Enter Amazon store details

The details you’ll need to enter here include the name of your Amazon store, whether or not you’re using UPC codes, diversity certifications, and if you are the manufacturer of the items. Depending on your area, there may be additional information requests.

  1. Verify your ID

You’ll need to submit some images of your government ID, as well as a bank statement. Once you upload the pictures and hit “submit”, all that’s left to do is confirm your business address one final time, and then simply wait for verification. You’ll be sent a postcard at your business address, that will have a code on it, and you’ll need to enter that code to verify you own the business.

  1. Enable TFA

While it isn’t mandatory, we recommend setting up two-factor authentication. This will send you a text message anytime you want to do certain high-security tasks, like make a withdrawal to your bank account, or update core information about your store. Enabling TFA will make it much harder for your store to be compromised once it’s up and running.
